Melissa Arnold |
Melissa
Arnold- HCA Quincy, IL Home Care. Melissa became an employee last June 2007. At the beginning she was a little shy and unsure of herself. She has now turned into one of Quincy’s most reliable field employees. There have been times when regular HCAs has been either ill or unable to work, and Melissa has been called at 5:00 a.m. to get to a client by 7:00 a.m. Her reply has always been, “Need to jump in the shower and get some Mountain Dew and I will be there.” On her way, she will call the office to give her status and what her schedule would be for the rest of the day. She even volunteered to work Easter weekend, giving up her holiday with her family to cover for others who were off. Melissa took plastic Easter eggs filled with chocolate candies to clients she never took care of before. This gesture was not expensive, but it made clients feel good over the holiday weekend. Melissa is one of the reasons that the Quincy office is growing and gaining a reputation of caring for their clients. Thank you Melissa for your commitment to Addus clients and employees. |

Mary Hood |
Mary
Hood – HCA Niles, IL Home Care. Mary has been an employee since 1994. She is now 78, and an unbelievable employee. She goes out of her way in rain, snow or sunny days to pick up her clients and make their days a whole lot brighter. She always treats her clients with respect and gives them care and attention as if she was a family member. Mary has said that someday she may need a care giver, and she wants to be treated the way she treats her clients. Mary is a perfect example of what a Home Care Aide should be.

Gabe Porta |
Gabe Porta – Occupational
Therapist Lowell/Rogers, AR Care Network Home Health.
Gabe is an Occupational Therapist with a special certification in providing therapy to “Low Vision” clients. He was able to help one of his clients by ordering a special magnifying lamp that enabled the client to improve his vision. With this lamp, the client was able to see well enough to fill his own insulin syringes for his daily shots. Ultimately, the client was discharged from Home Health Services because he could independently meet his own needs. This is what Addus is all about. We try to promote Health and Wellness to all of our clients and give them an opportunity to be more independent. Thank you Gabe for working towards this goal! |
