Angela Dawson |
Angela
Dawson, Service Coordinator, Joliet & Kankakee, IL Home
and Community Services Angela has worked for Addus since 2005. She has been a home care aide, family service specialist and service coordinator. Recently the Kankakee branch had sudden management changes and turn over in administrative staff. Angela stepped up and was willing to sacrifice her personal time to make sure the Kankakee office had complete coverage both during and after work hours until other more permanent arrangements could be made. Angela continues to work part time in Kankakee as well at Joliet to ensure there is effective training for the staff going forward. We are very fortunate to have Angela on the team and thank her for all she does for Addus. |

Tracey Byrd |
Tracey
Byrd, Personal Care Aide, Mobile, AL, Home & Community
Services Tracey is a true example of our company’s “Beliefs and Values”. She makes a difference, is kind and respectful, and she communicates well with clients. We had a client who had difficulty working and communicating with our staff. The client did not answer the door when she knew a caregiver was coming, nor answered the phone or would not be home for scheduled supervisory visits. But when Tracey started working with her she made a special bond with the client and turned things around. The client is now pleasant and talkative with our staff and praises Tracey for being a good caregiver and person. Bravo Tracey for your compassion and professionalism. |

Linda McKinnie |
Linda
McKinnie, RN, Chicago South, IL, Home Health Recently Linda took on a new client who was injured by a drunk driver while working on the crew that repairs our expressways. The clients leg was broken and crushed and also suffered a neck fracture. Linda was assigned to care for the client’s injuries every day. Even when she was not scheduled she volunteered on her own to see the client. She made sure that the wounds were dressed properly and that the doctor received full report on his progress. The client is progressing and healing very well because of her excellent care. Thank you Linda for you diligence and for keeping our promise to promote health & wellness. |

Minerva Wolfe |
Minerva Wolfe, Field Supervisor,
Champaign, IL, Home & Community Service Minerva has gone above and beyond caring for our first 24 hour/7 days a week live-in client. We knew that this client was going to be very challenging, but Minerva was up to the challenge. Not only is Minerva an outstanding Field Supervisor she really enjoys being a CNA as well. The client is a professor and is also intellectually challenging. We knew that all of our CNAs needed to be retrained. Minerva trained the CNA team who was going to be assigned caring for the professor and made sure that we connected with our integrated team (Marie Fisher) to come out on the first day home for the professor. The client was delighted to have Minerva assisting her and made her feel very comfortable. While at this new assignment Minerva also assisted a neighbor who was in distress. Multi tasking, she was instrumental in getting help for the neighbor through Addus. Minerva is truly a savior and not only did she assist the professor’s transition to her home environment, but made a difference in the neighbors life as well. |
