When we talk about Integrate Services, Allie took it beyond a referral and demonstrated how a team can succeed. An Adult Day Services client was referred to the Marion/Anna - Home & Community office for help. The client had recently become an amputee from the knee down was not receiving encouragement nor support from her home. Allie identified with the client and shared her story that she too was an amputee and could relate to all the feelings and frustrations the client was dealing with. A meeting was held with Kim Evans, Agency Director of Marion/Anna, Diana the ADS nurse, Allie and the client. Services and rehabilitation was organized and Allie offered to be the client’s mentor and friend throughout the process. A goal was set that Allie and the client would participate and lead the Addus Arthritis Team in the walk next year. This is an example how Addus can integrate services with positive outcomes.  We are proud of Allie and her dedication to the team. With Allie “Addus Achieves”!

Guadalupe Acevedo, Certified Home Health Aide, Bloomfield, NJ/Private Duty

Guadalupe is kind and respectful to all her clients. She is always available for any emergency assignment. She fills in for others when they are sick or cannot come to work. Because of her work ethic, the clients she services as a fill-in call and ask to be assigned to her permanently. The Bloomfield office congratulates you for doing a great job. Sharon Kemper, Home Care Aide, Quincy, IL/Home & Community

Sharon has a client named Mildred that receives services 5 days week. Mildred has a number of health issues and is taken to the doctor several times each month. Mildred says, “Sharon is her life line.” On May 24th, Sharon noticed some lesions on Mildred’s leg. It was very puffy and had a red streak. Sharon insisted that a call be made to the doctor. The doctor hospitalized Mildred immediately with a serious bacterial skin infection that if left untreated could have spread rapidly and become life threatening.  Mildred called the office from the hospital to tell us that “Sharon saved her life”!  Sharon’s quick actions saved her client. All we can say is, “Bravo and Thank You.”

Tonya McKittrick, Home Care Aide, Moline, IL/Home & Community

Tonya has been servicing a very challenging DORS client that has had a drastic personality change caused by going off his medication. She services this client 5 days a week, cooking, cleaning, laundry. Many times she finds the meals she has cooked in the garbage the next day. There are days he does not know his name. But Tonya goes faithfully to make sure the client is safe. Thank you Tonya for your dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
