Esteban López, M.D. has served as a director of the Company since January 2021. Dr. López is Chief Executive Officer, Alation Health, a health plan company. Prior to this position, he was Chief Medical Officer for Doxy.me, a leading telehealth platform. He previously served as Vice President, U.S. Growth, for Babylon, a London based global leader in digital healthcare, as well as Market Lead-Americas, Healthcare and Life Sciences for Google Cloud. At Google Cloud, he had executive responsibility for strategy, thought leadership and product development for a multinational technology company. Before joining Google, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Strategy and Innovation for Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the fourth largest health insurer in the U.S. and the nation’s largest member-owned health insurance company.
Prior to this, he was President of the Southwest Texas Region for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, where he also held the position of Chief Medical Officer. During his tenure, he oversaw sales, network, medical and community affairs for a 1.8-million-member business. He actively volunteered in the San Antonio, Texas, community and advised UNIT Innovations while serving on the Board of The Texas Lyceum. Additionally, he held executive committee roles with the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, the San Antonio Mayor’s Fitness Council, and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also currently serves as an independent director at Axonics (NASDAQ: AXNX).
Dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Lopez earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
