YWCA OF ALTON ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN ADULT DAY
SERVICE The YWCA of Alton
is pleased to announce the transition of its Adult Day Service
operations to Addus HealthCare, Inc., a well–established Adult Day
Service provider with four other sites in Illinois as well as additional
home and community and home health programs in Illinois and 15 other
states. Addus is celebrating their 30th year of operations.
The YWCA of Alton’s Adult Day Service has been serving the aged in the
community for almost 30 years. The excessive delay in reimbursement of
services from the State of Illinois has put a strain on all Adult Day
Service providers in the state – the YWCA of Alton included. By
partnering with Addus, the YWCA of Alton can assure that this quality
program continues to be available for those who need it.
The Adult Day Service will continue to operate out of the YWCA of Alton
location but will be run by Addus beginning January 1, 2010.
It's our privilege to be able to partner with the YWCA of Alton in an
effort to continue to bring top-quality adult-day services to this
community. Addus HealthCare, through a broad range of services, has a
deep commitment to helping people remain healthy and independent. I am
confident that our work in concert with the YWCA will reflect that
commitment every day." Said Kerri Pendley the Regional Director of Adult
Day Services for Addus Healthcare, Inc.
Addus HealthCare, Inc plans to expand and augment the current services
through its adult day, home care and home health divisions. The range of
services provided at the center will include nursing, physical therapy,
occupational therapy, speech therapy, personal care assistance,
individual care planning, door to door transportation, meal service and
therapeutic activity programming.
Activities and programming include daily exercise programs, community
outings, games, computer activities and arts and crafts. Addus offers
separate programming for younger adults.
Adult Day Services have proven to be a crucial component in the rapidly
growing elder care field. Studies have proven that seniors who receive
stimulation and socialization on a regular basis are more likely to stay
healthier longer and to live a more rewarding life. Adult Day centers
like the YWCA of Alton provide individuals with a place to go,
socialize, remain active and to receive basic healthcare.
If a loved one in your family needs the security of an Adult Day Service
program, the YWCA of Alton and Addus HealthCare, Inc. encourage you to
call Janet Jorden, ADS Director at the YWCA at 465-7774.
