Developmentally-Disabled Children Celebrate Christmas,

Generosity of Community

At Annual Christmas Party, Holyeton Home Children Receive Stockings from Addus HealthCare and Toys Courtesy of Unique Auto Works in St. Louis and the 103.3 FM Smash Morning Show

Where:

Hoyleton Children’s Home

350 N. Main St.

Hoyleton, IL 62803

When:

December 17, 2008

4 p.m.
What: For their holiday service project, employees of Addus HealthCare in O’Fallon, IL, stuffed stockings with toothbrushes, matchbox cars, bubbles and an array of tasty treats that the community contributed for the residents of the Hoyleton Children’s Home. Addus collected so many generous donations that all of the items wouldn’t fit in the stockings.

When the 103.3 F.M. Smash Morning Show heard about the project, they too wanted to contribute. That’s when the show’s producers teamed up with Andy Eisele of Unique Auto Works in St. Louis. “Andy the Car Guy” had collected children’s toys, including a keyboard and a life-size fire truck, from his customers and was happy to donate them to this worthy cause.

Their generosity will be well-received at the Hoyleton Home. For many of the children, this holiday will mark the first time that they receive actual Christmas gifts. Many come from families that were so broken, or so poor, that they have never received presents with their own names on them.

The children will receive the stockings at Christmas parties that will take place in each of the five residential cottages at the Hoyleton Children’s Home. Each cottage will host its own family-style dinner, to be followed by the opening of the gifts.
Who: Julia Klucker, Service Project Organizer from the Addus Branch in O’Fallon, and Anne King, Operations Director of Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, can be available for interviews.
